NOTE: A two-hour school delay on the meeting’s originally scheduled date, this meeting was rescheduled to Tuesday, Feb. 18, on Zoom.
The LWPTSA Sustainability Committee is made up of local sustainability chairs at schools across the district. The committee has worked on a range of issues, including food recovery, waste reduction, composting, green cleaning, no-idle zones, herbicide-free schools, and engaging and supporting students in their efforts to combat climate change and create a livable planet.
Sustainability Committee meetings for 2024-2025 will be a mix of in-person meetings at the LWSD Resource Center Sammamish Room (16250 NE 74th St., Redmond WA 98052) as well as online sessions via Zoom.

Everyone in the LWSD community is invited to join us for our February Lunch & Learn, where we will welcome Dr. Shannon Hitch,
LWSD Executive Director of Special Services, to discuss special education in our schools. Where can families find the most current information and prepare their children to get the most out of the special services our schools offer? Bring your questions and concerns, and we’ll see you on Feb. 20!
LWPTSA Council’s Lunch & Learn series consists of short presentations and Q&A on topics of interest to our school community, from noon – 1 pm on select Thursdays online via Zoom. Grab your lunch, log on, and learn with us! Event links will be shared on our website calendar, social media and newsletters close to the event dates. Topics and featured speakers are subject to change and will be updated as they are finalized.
This presentation will help participants understand the importance of the nominating committee for your PTA, how to elect them, and methods of organization so they have the tools to help them recruit qualified candidates for leadership positions.
