Child Safety Talk

Learn how to keep children safe! Join us to hear expert advice on the topics of: gun safety, water safety awareness, drowning prevention, internet safety and more. Representatives from the Kirkland Police Department along with No More Under and Be SMART will share their insights.

The Journey to Becoming an Anti-Racist Family

LWPTSA Council is hosting a two-part workshop with Lewin Education & Consulting on “The Journey to Becoming an Anti-Racist Family” on May 11 and 18. The journey is a long one and it’s never too early to start the conversations of being anti-racist. As Angela Davis states: “In a racist society, it’s not enough to be non-racist, we must be anti-racist.”

LWPTSA and LWSD are excited to be hosting Stefanie Hanley on Monday, April 18th at 7pm on Zoom.  Stefanie Hanley has over 11 years of experience working collaboratively with law enforcement across federal and local agencies regarding crimes against children online and other high-risk victims. She now uses this experience to educate parents and children about internet safety in her personal time. This presentation will cover: cyberbullying, social networking/online gaming, sexting, mental health aspect of internet safety, reality of teens as targets, screen addiction, and internet and cell phone safety tips.  Information provided at this event is for value to all parents – whether your student has a cell phone/internet access now, or you want to know how to keep them safe in the future.
