Effective Communication Workshop
Mar 24 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

All high school students in Lake Washington School District are invited to an Effective Communications Workshop on Wednesday, March 24 at 6PM. Students will learn the 3 C’s of communication, how to have difficult or challenging conversations and tips for communicating over social media. This workshop is free but registration is required.

Suicide Awareness and Prevention with UW’s Forefront
Mar 25 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Come learn in a friendly and nurturing environment, how to help your child or friend through a suicidal episode. Learn about what signs to look for, how to have the important conversations with your child around this topic and gain lots of resources. The mission of University of Washington’s Forefront is to focus on reducing suicide by empowering individuals and community to take action. All are welcome, but especially recommended for middle school parents, high school parents and also high school students.

Legacy of Resilience: A Holocaust Story

Lake Washington PTSA Council invites parents and teens to a Holocaust remembrance talk on Monday, March 29 at 6 pm. Daphna Robon will share the story of the survival and resiliency of her parents, Imre Friedmann and Naomi Kraus.

This talk is recommend for parents and high school students.

Best Ways to Boost a Child’s Brain
Mar 30 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

This is a 2-part workshop on March 23 and March 30.

Staci Danford will talk about how our brains work — and those of children — and then share with parents some simple strategies to help create positive transformation. Staci’s engaging talk will show you how to help your child think smarter, build healthy relationships and let go of limiting beliefs. All parents of elementary and middle school aged children are welcome.

Special Education Group Meeting @ Online

Join the Special Education Group for their monthly meeting on the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

Yordanos Gebreamlak, Senior Education Ombuds of the Governor’s Office of Education Ombuds will present at the April 2021 meeting on the intersection of disability and race. She will discuss how the lens of disability justice can guide caregiver and student involvement, advocacy, and equity work.
