The financial management of the PTA is the responsibility of the entire board of directors. Learn the basic financial skills to manage and track PTA funds, online accounts, legal obligations to maintain your tax-exempt status and other considerations. Recommended for all elected officers and board members.

Effective Budgets and Financial Strategy: Building a goal-based budget is key to the success of PTAs. Learn how to assess your PTA’s financial management practices and how to develop and amend budgets. Topics discussed in this class are not covered in the class “Managing Your Nonprofit PTA: The Financial Responsibilities of Board Members.”
This official training will be led by LWPTSA Council, and will count toward your 2025-2026 training requirement.

Join WSPTA for this presentation to understand the importance of the nominating committee, how to elect them, and methods of organization so you have the tools to help you recruit the best-qualified candidates for the positions. Come learn the basics and why this is such an important committee—it’s part of the WSPTA Uniform Bylaws and Standards of Affiliation!
PTA and the Law – Only 3 classes left this year!
March 11 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
We are winding down the school year and this is one of your last chances to take PTA and the law!
This is the most important and useful class of them all, as it will prepare you and your fellow officers to run your PTA with an eye toward the important legal and fiscal requirements in running a nonprofit. PTA and the Law deals with state and federal rules and regulations relevant to running a charitable, tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation in the state of Washington and will explain how these rules impact your PTA. PTA and the Law is a required class for at least one PTA officer each year.
