Clothing Swap & Resource Fair @ LWSD Resource Center

Bring your kids’ outgrown or unneeded and gently worn orchestra, band or choir concert attire, warm coats and school clothing, and/or browse for new-to-you items in the sizes you need for this year.

  • White and black dress shirts
  • Dress pants and skirts
  • Black dress shoes
  • Neckties
  • Warm coats and jackets
  • Pants (jeans, athletic pants)\
  • Shirts (T-shirts, long sleeved, sweatshirts
  • ALL SIZES NEEDED

No cost to participate and no obligation to donate clothing in order to receive.

How to Contribute Clothing

Donations can be dropped off at the LWSD Resource Center from Oct. 9 to 13, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, in the marked bin by the PTSA office. PTA leaders may also bring donations to the LWPTSA Council Membership Meeting on Oct. 5 (9:45 – 11:15 am).

All items must be:

  • Gently used
  • Clean & stain-free
  • Not faded or discolored
  • In good condition with no damage

Schools of Excellence Enrollment Deadline @ Online

National PTA’s School of Excellence recognition program opens the lines of communication and critical thinking within school communities to make data-driven decisions that yield positive, long-term results. School of Excellence is committed to supporting and recognizing partnerships between local PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students.

Once enrolled, local PTAs will gain access to all of the tools needed to run their School of Excellence program. Local PTAs are encouraged to enroll early to start building their Excellence Teams and to familiarize themselves with the program process. Enrollment for the 2023-2024 program will be open until October 15

Special Education Group (SEG) meetings in 2023-2024 will be held in person at the LWSD Resource Center (16250 NE 74th St., Redmond WA 98052). An unstructured networking time will be held from 6:30 to 7 pm, offering an opportunity for members to connect with one another. The formal portion of the meeting will begin at 7 pm.

* If you require an interpreter or student care during our meetings, please contact us at specialeducation@lwptsa.net at least 3 business days prior to the meeting you plan to attend so that we can make arrangements for you.

Legislative Assembly 2023

Save the date! Washington State PTA’s 25th Annual Legislative Assembly will be held remotely on October 21 & 22, 2023, through the Whova app. Registration will open soon!


The Washington State PTA legislative platform is a two-year platform to mirror the Washington state legislative cycle. On the even-numbered years, the new platform is voted on by members at the legislative assembly in the fall. The top five issues become our short-term platform and consist of our priority issues when advocating throughout the year. Other issues are placed on an “also supported” list.

PTA and the Law (WSPTA Training) @ Virtual

This is the most important and useful class of them all, as it will prepare you and your fellow officers to run your PTA with an eye toward the important legal and fiscal requirements in running a nonprofit. PTA and the Law deals with state and federal rules and regulations relevant to running a charitable, tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation in the state of Washington, and will explain how these rules impact your PTA. PTA and the Law is a required class for at least one elected officer per PTA each year.

Reflections 2025-26 Theme Search Contest Deadline @ Online

Reflections 2025-26 Theme Search Contest Deadline @ Online

National PTA is seeking a theme for the 2025-2026 Reflections Program Year. 

Washington students at schools with an active PTA/PTSA may submit their theme ideas (with parent/guardian authorization) via this form. The Washington State PTA Programs Committee will select a top 5 to submit to National PTA. The top 5 will be announced in November after the submission deadline.

The student who submits the ultimate winning entry will receive $100 and have their theme presented at the National PTA Convention in 2024.

Please review the past themes listed here, as repeat themes will not be considered. Please direct any questions to ptaprogdir@wastatepta.org.

The submission form itself should take about 5 minutes to complete. Here’s a brief summary of what you will find on the application form, to assist with your preparation:

Council’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee meets one Wednesday each month of the school year (with the exception of September and June) at 6 pm.

During the 2023-2024 school year, meetings will be held online via Zoom  The Zoom link will be published in Council’s newsletter the week of the meeting, as well as sent directly to committee participants.

Managing Your Nonprofit PTA (WSPTA Training) @ Virtual

The financial management of the PTA is the responsibility of the entire board of directors. At this free training offered by WSPTA, learn the basic financial skills to manage and track PTA funds, online accounts, legal obligations to maintain your tax-exempt status and other considerations. Recommended for all elected officers and board members.
