Join us for a series of roundtables aimed at helping PTA leaders connect with one another. We’ll have three virtual sessions on October 19, with separate sessions geared toward elementary PTAs, middle school PTAs and high school PTAs. All PTA officers are welcome! Join when you can, and network with volunteers experiencing many of the same challenges as you.
- Elementary PTA leaders: October 19 from 10–10:45 am
- Middle school PTA leaders: October 19 from 10:45–11:30 am
- High school PTA leaders: October 19 from 11:30 am–12:15 pm
A nomination committee is a key indicator of PTA health and is a WSPTA Bylaw and SOA requirement. This presentation will help participants understand the importance of the nominating committee, how to elect them, and methods of organization, so PTAs have the tools to help them recruit the best qualified candidates for the positions. A fair and impartial nomination process involves your membership and ensures your PTA’s success for many years into the future.
This will be a virtual presentation, hosted by Bellevue PTSA Council. Registrants will receive a Zoom link the day before the event. Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/nom-com-training-tickets-434085600717
This is Washington State PTA‘s annual training class for Reflections leaders. Included in this class is an overview of the program, and instructions on how both local and council PTAs can participate. There is also time set aside to answer questions from local leaders. This class will be recorded. Register for this WSPTA-hosted class here.
NOTE: Council’s Reflections Kick-Off event is a separate, in-person workshop on Monday, September 19 that all local PTA Reflections chairs or PTA leaders are encouraged to attend.
The LWPTSA Sustainability Committee meets monthly and focuses on raising awareness around sustainable initiatives district-wide, sharing resources, and connecting with one another. Community members are always welcome.
The Sustainability Committee is made up of local chairs at schools across the district. The committee has worked on a range of issues, including food recovery, waste reduction, composting, green cleaning, no-idle zones, herbicide-free schools, and engaging and supporting students in their efforts to combat climate change and create a livable planet.
All local PTA leaders are invited to attend our monthly membership meetings held the first Thursday of the month during the school year. Each year three meetings are held in the evening. This year they are November, January and April.
In-person membership meetings will be held at the Lake Washington School District Resource Center in Redmond Town Center. The LWSD Resource Center address is: 16250 NE 74th St., Redmond WA 98052. Zoom meeting links for our December 2022 and May 2023 online meetings will be available in the Weekly Waves newsletter that all local PTA leaders receive.
Bring your kids’ outgrown or unneeded band, orchestra or choir concert attire, and browse for new-to-you items in the sizes you need for this year’s musical performances. Warm winter coats in ALL sizes are also needed.
No cost to participate, and no obligation to give clothing in order to receive.
Clothing contributions are gratefully accepted. Visit https://lwptsa-endpoint-b3fqhjf4e8axbfdw.z02.azurefd.net/clothing-swap/ for complete details, including what we are accepting and how to donate clothing items.
Our scholarship program auction reception & raffle is also happening at LWSD Resource Center at the same time, so we invite you to come place bids and purchase raffle tickets for prizes. (All proceeds from the auction directly fund our annual scholarship program to support graduating LWSD seniors as well as certificated staff seeking continuing education.)
