Information about National PTA’s 2023 Virtual Convention will be forthcoming.

WSPTA will be remotely hosting the 3rd annual Autumn Leadership Launch (A.L.L.) on August 25-26, 2023.
All new and returning leaders, please join us from the comfort of your home, hotel, or phone! Position-specific trainings, roundtables, specialized classes, and networking opportunities are on the agenda for this year. PTA and the Law will be held on Saturday, August 26th from 9:15 – 12:30 with a 15 minute break in the middle. Other live webinars will be recorded (except PTA and the Law) and available on the Whova app until noon on September 29, 2023.
Your volunteer training is an investment in the continued success of your PTA, council or region. Volunteer leaders attending trainings such as ALL and other leadership development opportunities should be reimbursed for their registration expenses by their respective PTAs as appropriate. Your investment of time on behalf of your students and families is valuable and our goal is to provide the tools for your success!
Registration is open now for $50. PTA leaders needing financial assistance may select the subsidized rate when registering. Registration will remain open until noon on September 8th so you can continue to access trainings after the event!
Help us spread the word and share this event information with fellow PTA leaders – we hope to see you soon! Please contact events@wastatepta.org if you have questions.

All local PTA leaders are invited to attend our monthly membership meetings held the first Thursday of the month during the school year. Meetings will mostly be during daytime hours, with occasional evening meeting times, and will be a mix of in-person and virtual Zoom meetings.
In-person membership meetings will be held at the Lake Washington School District Resource Center in Redmond Town Center. The LWSD Resource Center address is: 16250 NE 74th St., Redmond WA 98052. Zoom meeting links for our online meetings will be available in the Weekly Waves newsletter that all local PTA leaders receive.
Do you have questions about how to navigate memberplanet? Join Robert Montenegro and WSPTA Membership Director Jenn Talingo who will walk you through and answer any questions you may have.

Local PTAs who are participating in the Reflections program this year are encouraged to send their Reflections chair or another board representative to this virtual meeting.
Contact reflections@lwptsa.net for more information.
This year’s theme is “I Am Hopeful Because…”
We ask each of our local PTA presidents and their school principal to attend this yearly event, designed to help lay a foundation for building a strong partnership between our schools and PTAs. Principals are required to attend this event. If your PTA’s president is unable to attend, another board member should be designated to participate.

This is the most important and useful class of them all, as it will prepare you and your fellow officers to run your PTA with an eye toward the important legal and fiscal requirements in running a nonprofit. PTA and the Law deals with state and federal rules and regulations relevant to running a charitable, tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation in the state of Washington, and will explain how these rules impact your PTA. PTA and the Law is a required class for at least one elected officer per PTA each year.
