The financial management of the PTA is the responsibility of the entire board of directors. At this free training offered by WSPTA, learn the basic financial skills to manage and track PTA funds, online accounts, legal obligations to maintain your tax-exempt status and other considerations. Recommended for all elected officers and board members.

Sustainability Committee meetings for 2023-2024 will be held at the LWSD Resource Center (16250 NE 74th St., Redmond WA 98052) and online via Zoom. Schedule/locations are subject to change. Any changes will be communicated via our website, our newsletters and Facebook Group.
All local PTA leaders are invited to attend our monthly membership meetings held the first Thursday of the month during the school year. Meetings will mostly be during daytime hours, with occasional evening meeting times, and will be a mix of in-person and virtual Zoom meetings.
In-person membership meetings will be held at the Lake Washington School District Resource Center in Redmond Town Center. The LWSD Resource Center address is: 16250 NE 74th St., Redmond WA 98052. Zoom meeting links for our online meetings will be available in the Weekly Waves newsletter that all local PTA leaders receive.
Building a goal-based budget is key to the success of PTAs. Learn how to assess your PTA’s financial management practices and how to develop and amend budgets. Topics discussed in this class are not covered in the class “Managing Your Nonprofit PTA: The Financial Responsibilities of Board Members.”

This is the most important and useful class of them all, as it will prepare you and your fellow officers to run your PTA with an eye toward the important legal and fiscal requirements in running a nonprofit. PTA and the Law deals with state and federal rules and regulations relevant to running a charitable, tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation in the state of Washington, and will explain how these rules impact your PTA. PTA and the Law is a required class for at least one elected officer per PTA each year.
Emergency preparedness chairs and representatives: It’s our final E-Prep Committee meeting of the school year! Join us on Zoom on Tuesday, April 16, at 10 am:
