The financial management of the PTA is the responsibility of the entire board of directors. Learn the basic financial skills to manage and track PTA funds, online accounts, legal obligations to maintain your tax-exempt status and other considerations. Recommended for all elected officers and board members. This WSPTA-approved training session will be led by LWPTSA Council.
SPECIAL EDUCATION CHAIRS and POTENTIAL CHAIRS:
Are you the Special Education Chair for your school’s PTA? Would you like to take on this role? We would love to connect with you and support the work you are doing! If you have not already done so, please have your PTA president email the LWPTSA Council secretary at secretary@lwptsa.net and SEG chairs Kaity Mason & Huma Zarif at specialeducation@lwptsa.net to let us know you have been appointed to this role.
We will host a training with LWPTSA President Yumna Green on Tuesday, March 28, from 6:30 to 8 pm at the LWSD Resource Center (Hughes Room) for all chairs and anyone interested in this role! Please RSVP to specialeducation@lwptsa.net as soon as possible. We will learn about the PTA ins and outs from Yumna and share ideas for success. We are looking forward to this time together!
This is the most important and useful class of them all, as it will prepare you and your fellow officers to run your PTA with an eye toward the important legal and fiscal requirements in running a nonprofit. PTA and the Law deals with state and federal rules and regulations relevant to running a charitable, tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation in the state of Washington and will explain how these rules impact your PTA. PTA and the Law is a required class for at least one PTA officer each year. This is the final scheduled date for this training this school year.
