LWPTSA Engagement Brief: 48th Legislative District Town Hall

We finished the weekend strong at the final in-person town hall on March 23, 2025, for the 48th Legislative District, where Redmond Mayor Angela Birney led an important conversation between the community and local lawmakers.

State legislators Senator Vandana Slatter, Representative Osman Salahuddin and Representative Amy Walen showed what real leadership looks like—putting people first and working hard for the families they serve.

LWPTSA leaders were there to listen, connect, and represent the voices of students and families. We stood together for fully funded education and a brighter future for every child.

Advocacy is about showing up, again and again, for the students who depend on us. It’s about making sure every child—regardless of their ZIP code—has the tools to learn, grow, and thrive. We will keep showing up, because every student matters, and every voice counts.
