About the Scholarship Auction
The Lake Washington PTSA Council began its scholarship program 40 years ago to assist graduating seniors with their college education. In 1990, scholarships for district staff
were added to help defray the costs of continuing education
In addition to our scholarships recognizing academic merit and extracurricular and community involvement for students attending 4-year institutions, we are also very proud to award scholarships for 2-year vocational or technical college-bound students, as well as our Perseverance and Turn Around scholarships recognizing students who have overcome challenges and are pursuing 2- or 4-year college.
Funding for these scholarships is primarily provided by the 44 PTAs and PTSAs in the Lake Washington School District. Each PTA makes an annual donation to the scholarship fund and also contributes one of the themed baskets up for auction.
LWPTSA Council is also grateful for the generosity of community partners such as the LWSD Central Leadership team, Lake Washington Schools Foundation, Lake Washington
Education Association, and people like you.
LWPTSA Council’s mission is to serve as a relevant resource to the local PTAs and parents within the Lake Washington School District through training, support and guidance, and to advocate for the health, well-being and education of every child.
