Spotlight: PTA Fundraising Activities Across Council

October 2023

Each month, we will use our newsletter to highlight what local PTAs are doing around various common themes. This month, Council Area VP Muusa Liinpaa has gathered some stories about how PTAs are meeting their fundraising goals. We hope this information is helpful, and we welcome suggestions about future themes or topics!

SpotlightRedmond High School PTSA is all about supporting its students! They run different fundraisers, like “Pass the Hat” and Grad Night—a fantastic, safe celebration for graduates. They’ve even made it extra fun by letting folks order goodies like Remlinger Farms pies or hanging baskets for Mother’s Day, with an option to gift one to their amazing staff. While restaurant fundraisers are tasty, they’ve found more success with specific groups such as Band Boosters and Drama Boosters. It’s all about finding what works best!

Over at Ella Baker Elementary PTSA, they’ve embraced kindness with Raise Craze, and guess what? It led to more than 594 acts of kindness in just two weeks! They’ve even swapped individual prizes for cool group experiences. Go, team!

In general, elementary schools have exciting events like fun runs with themes such as Dolphin Dash and Ninja Warrior. Middle schools also join the fun with pass-the-hat fundraisers and sometimes MOD Pizza parties.High schools are rocking the pass-the-hat tradition, and Eastlake High School PTSA has their famous Holiday Bazaar coming up this Saturday! Keep up the awesome work, everyone! You’re making a difference!
