November 2026 Ballot Initiatives

The following three measures impacting children throughout Washington are on the November 2026 ballot:

  • IL26-001 (“parental rights in public schools”)
  • IL26-638 (“participation in athletics at K-12 schools”)
  • IL26-645 (“state and local taxes”)

The Washington State PTA (WSPTA) board of directors has voted to oppose each initiative and is urging PTA members state-wide to vote “NO”.  LWPTSA Council membership voted on October 1st to support the opposition of these three initiatives.

PTA has a long history of advocating for every child’s education, health, safety, and overall well-being. WSPTA is nonpartisan; it does not support or oppose candidates for any office. WSPTA does take positions on ballot measures affecting children and public schools. We encourage all voters to learn more about these initiatives and why WSPTA is asking members to oppose them. Visit the WSPTA website for details.
