Application Process

The Lake Washington School District (LWSD) recognizes the value of volunteers and their contributions to our students’ education and our District mission.  All volunteers, including PTA volunteers and chaperones, must go through the district’s volunteer application process and be approved before beginning a volunteer assignment.

Parents, relatives and community members (including vendors for enrichment programs) can complete an online application quickly through Raptor. Students who want to volunteer in schools other than their own have to complete the Student Volunteer Application.

The volunteer department’s peak time is mid-August through mid-November. During this time, it can take up to two weeks to process an application.

Need Support Finding Volunteers?

The LWSD Volunteer Program Supervisor, Chris Robison (crobison@lwsd.org), can help PTSAs in many ways:

• checking volunteer status
• generating a list of approved volunteers (names of the volunteers and the expiration date of their approval status) for PTSA purposes
• if your PTSA is having trouble recruiting volunteers, can email all the approved volunteers for your school.
