The Lake Washington PTSA Council is pleased to roll out its 2025 Scholarship Program for graduating Lake Washington School District seniors and certificated staff members.
This year’s student scholarships, available to seniors at LWSD high schools, will include 13 awards of $1,250 each:
- 8 Merit Scholarships
- 1 LWEA Teeley Scholarship (Funded by the LWEA)
- 1 Perseverance Scholarship
- 1 Turnaround Scholarship
- 1 Two-Year, Technical or Vocational School Scholarship
- 1 At-Large Scholarship

Two $500 scholarships are available for LWSD certificated staff for approved continuing education or professional development courses. Also, this year, we are honored to introduce a THIRD staff scholarship for $500: the LWEA Mawhinney Scholarship for an educator in the field of special education.
This new award is funded by the Lake Washington Education Association (LWEA), in honor of former LWEA president and special education teacher Howard Mawhinney.
Applications for all student and staff scholarships are due by 11:59 pm on Friday, March 14. The LWPTSA Council Scholarship Program is funded by money raised via annual donations from the 44 PTSAs and PTAs in the LWSD, the LWEA, and by donations from the greater community.
