Advocacy is key to ensuring all students receive equitable resources and opportunities. By using our collective voice, we influence decisions that shape education at every level.
Why We Advocate:
- To ensure equity and access for all students
- To influence policies impacting education and student well-being
- To drive change for issues like school funding, safety and mental health services
How to Advocate:
- School Level: Get involved with your school’s PTA to address local needs, such as funding, safety and inclusive practices.
- Council Level (LWPTSA): Collaborate with the LWPTSA Council on district-wide initiatives. Work with other PTAs to influence district policies and advocate for all students in Lake Washington School District.
- State Level (Washington State PTA): Join WSPTA efforts to advocate for state policies affecting education. Attend Legislative Assembly, Focus Day, and participate in discussions that impact all students in Washington.
