2024 LWPTSA Council Academic Scholarship Winners Honored at Reception & Presentation Ceremony

LWPTSA Council hosted a scholarship awards reception and presentation ceremony on Monday, June 3, in celebration of our 2024 academic scholarship recipients. With the support of our local PTAs and the Lake Washington Education Association, we were able to award 17 student scholarships of $1,250 each.

Merit Scholarships:

LWEA/Teeley Scholarship: Kayleigh Flaks (JHS — Cambridge)

Voc/Tech/2-year Scholarship: Alberto Mbengi (JHS)

Turnaround Scholarship: Rosalinda Hernandez Martinez (JHS)

Perseverance Scholarships:

At-Large Council Scholarships:

  • Samantha Chan (EHS — Running Start)

  • Christine Vu (RHS)

LWPTSA Council was also pleased to award two $500 staff scholarships this year to Young Kim (Lake Washington High School) and Katie DiLorenzo (Einstein Elementary) for continuing education opportunities.

LWPTSA Council would like to give a special thanks and shout out to Nothing Bundt Cakes of Kirkland, who generously donated a delicious assortment of Bundtinis for the reception! We are grateful for their continued support of our community.

Thank you to all the scholarship winners and their loved ones for joining us in this celebration. We wish them the best in their post-secondary endeavors!

LWPTSA Council looks forward to another season of celebrating our future graduates in the next academic year. Our 2024-25 scholarship program will roll out in the winter.
