Mark Twain Elementary PTSA was awarded LWPTSA Council’s You Rock! Award at the February 2021 general membership meeting for Being Crafty.
Twain PTSA adapted a popular event to fit social distancing restrictions while still maintaining the fun, creativity, and connection. They recreated the family favorite winter Make It Take It craft fair as a virtual Take It Make It craft night. A group of volunteers (and their kids!) assembled 600 craft kits – 100 each of 6 different crafts – and facilitated contactless pick up for 90 families. A virtual craft night was hosted where a volunteer demonstrated how to make each of the crafts. Families were also invited to share pictures to include in the yearbook and via social media.
